Hennessy VS, VSOP, XO, ........?!


Question: Can the average Cognac drinker distinguish between these three types Is it worth spending extra money on VSOP when I can just buy VS do they taste different.

the vo is stored at least 2 years in cask, the vsop 4 years, the xo a minimum of 6 years. there is a big difference, the older the cognac, the smoother it is, the younger, the harsher the taste.

if you drink them straight you can tell... as you go up its a smoother taste.. i had some Pure White Hennessy in the bahamas and that by far is my favorite... but i dont think the average hennessy drinker can distinguish between VS and VSOP.. but XO is another level

yes you can taste the diffrence they are all good is you cant afford the more expensive kind the other will work though

I've tried all the VS, VSOP, XO, and Paradis varieties of Hennessy. Yes, I can taste a difference. After XO, I would say you were wasting your money.


I would suggest you try Remy Martin XO. You won't be disappointed.

I am not too picky when it comes to Cognac. The difference in taste exists between each type but I drink for effect, not taste.
