15 year old bartender?!
Answers: I'm really interested in becoming a bartender. i know that i have to wait a couple of years before i can do it legally. so any tips, opinons, books, web sites i can look into in the mean while?
I started at a restaurant serving, I watched the bartenders. Occasionally they wouldn't be there, so I would have to make drinks. I had paid attention to the bartenders, so I could do the basics.
Once I had to make a margarita-The first one I ever made-The lady said it was the best one she ever had. I eventually was the afternoon bartender. So my tips were better.
So you could start by serving at a bar and pay attention. There are a lot of books out there. Go to a barnes and noble or similar store.
Also, when you do become one. Pay attention to people's drinks-keep them full.
And also Upsale. Order a Whiskey coke-don't just give them the bar pour-ask if they want Jack or whatever. That way your tip should be more.
Good Luck!!

I would get the Classic Industry standar Mr Bostons Bar Book. learn the basics of mixology. There are many sites on line to learn the newest drinks. Being a bartender is far more than mixing drinks and dancing on bars. You are a shoulder to cry on, a referee in fights, and you have to be great with money and quick quick on making drinks. Im sure you will be great :)
I don't know what country you're from, but I know that here in Australia you can do a hospitality course which teaches the art of making & serving drinks etc. My grandson has just completed his & started his first job at a pub. You need to check out the courses available at your nearest tertiary education centre.
