I like vodka/red bull. I also prefer sugar free red bull to avoid the hang over. That's all I drink, it gives me the buzz & the energy.

I would say beer, but you said cocktail. Hmm, I like scotch on the rocks or cognac neat. Also Tequila, straight up and if it is good tequila, no lime or salt is needed. Jose Cuervo is not good tequila, IMHO. I like Corazon - anejo
