I like sweet wine. I really like Sutter Home's Mascot and all Niagras. Is there a similar wine easy to get?!

Question: Can't really help you with brand names, but if you like sweeter wines, here is a list of some:

Kijafa cherry wine (very sweet Danish red wine)
Mead (semi-sweet honey wine)
Lambrusco (semi-sweet red wine)
Muscat (very sweet white dessert wine)
Auslese (very sweet German white wine)
Spatlese (sweet German white wine)
Riesling (semi-sweet white wine, made in many countries)
Asti Spumante (semi-sweet sparkling Italian wine)

You should be able to find just about all of these types of wine at one of your local stores that has a good wine selection.

You could try late German Rieslings of the "Eisswein" variety, or Californian and East European Muscats, for example a Tokaj from Hungary. These are ripe, sweet wines with excellent fruit notes. They are great value for money, too, because not too many people know about them.

German Gertzwammers or any "generic" Rhine wines are also pretty sweet & pretty tasty.

The very popular Beringer white zinfandel is still very reasonably priced. Semi-sweet & fruity.

If you like sweet wine, Gewurtztraminer is the best option. These are cheap and sweet and widely available. These are German grapes, but many Californian wineries have adopted in their wines. The cheapest ones include Sutter Home and Fetzer, which can run as cheap at $5-8 per bottle. If you want something fancier, you can go a bit more expensive with other vineyard. Another one I like is a Rosemount Riesling Traminer ($8-10), which is a blend of Riesling and Gewurtztraminer and also is sweet and fun to drink.

Riesling is a sweet German wine, but you need to know what you are picking, since some wine maker makes dry and not so sweet Riesling. In general, if the alcohol content is low, the wine will be sweeter. There are some California Riesling that I like, including Bonny Doon's Pacific Sweet Riesling ($12).

You also can try various Muscato from Italy. Muscato d'Asti is a cheap type of sweet wine from Italy and it is nice and sweet.

Ice wines are expensive. A good Ice Wine will put you at about $25-55/half bottles. Not a good buy for those who are not into Ice Wines. The same goes for Sauturnes from France.
