What's a nice white wine?!

Question:

What's a nice white wine?

I want to get my friend a nice bottle of white wine as a house warming gift. I need something a little sweet that's moderately priced. Any suggestions?

Answers:
Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio is a wonderful white wine and it sells for about $16 per bottle.

None.

If you don't know what kind of wine your friend likes or prefers, I would get a Fume Blanc. Its not as "complex" as a Chardonnay, and not as sweet as a white Zinfandel (I think white Zins are like cough syrup!).

Some good brands/wineries of Fume Blanc that should be available: Robert Mondavi Private Reserve, Drycreek, Ferrari, Meridian are all good, and won't set you back more than $8-15 dollars.

Zinfandels are a little sweet, Rieslings are very sweet, in my opinion. Rosemount Estate is decently priced-around $10 per bottle, give or take.

Pinot Grigio is the best, I have turned a ton of people onto this white wine.

Go to the liquor store and pick up a couple bottles of 'Relax Riesling.' It's a blue bottle, with relax written in silver letters.

It's a nice simple reisling that won't shock the occasional wine drinker, and I've seen a few avid drinkers who swear by it for a 'quick pick-up and drink' wine. It shouldn't be more than $12 per bottle.

Let me know how it goes!
