Is a 30 year old cocktail ok to drink?!

Question: I have two approx 30 year old mixer drink bottles; one banana cocktail and the other cherry cocktail. There is no alcohol percentage on the bottle but I assume it to be around 20%. The bottles are unopened but the contents look ok. Is it ok to drink now?

It may or may not be. Not all cocktail mixes contain alcohol, and 20% may not be enough for preservation. In addition, just because they are unopened does not mean they have not been exposed to air or bacteria. Even a corked wine bottle gets some exposure after 30 years. Of course that is by design. The typical mixer top is far less air tight and the contents are not designed for long term storage. Of course, if you want to roll the dice thats on you. But I would have drank or tossed them 29 years ago.

Sure. I can't see what the problem is.

It is okay to drink, there are 200 year old bottles of alcohol out there.

I WOULD NOT BUT GO AHEAD AND OPEN THEM....IF THEY PASS THE SMELL TEST GO AHEAD.

1st check for any possible useby/best before date, whether its still legible or not, the presence of 1 should be a red flag.

Alcohol will help preserve, but check the other ingrdients in the mix, after that long depending on the "natural" ingredients, u may be better off auctioning them as relics than taking the risk & drinking them

No, throw them away.
