Is there a whiskey better than Jack Daniels?!
Answers: I am trying to think of a nice gift for a friend who likes Jack Daniels, and was wondering if there's a brand a little more upscale than Jack and taste as good as if not better than Jack Daniels that anyone can recommend as a gift.
Gentleman Jack...Same whiskey but a smoother taste. Ask for it at your package store.
Bulliet Bourbon, you may have to special order it, but it come in an "old frontier" bottle... suppose to be just the the old wests best. It's my favorite, $22 a bottle in MO.
Oh gods, yes! Jack is only about mid-level in terms of quality. If your friend likes Bourban, I would suggest Maker's Mark, which is quite good. Or Gentleman Jack (not affiliated with Jack Daniels). That's another good one.
crown royal with the gold label is pretty good... but JD is good toooo.... :)
Virtually all Kentucky made bourbon whiskeys are better! However, to be specific one of the best small batch whiskeys you will ever find is Booker's made by the Jim Beam distilleries.

Be careful, JD's is fairly unique in taste as it isnt a conventional whisky. JD is a mash which makes it taste different! Whereas things like Jim Beam etc are bourbons and Teachers, Bells etc are whiskys. I don't drink any of them so I cant help there, I just serve them :)
Well, being a bartender, I would say yes, there are plenty of whiskeys that are "better" than Jack....however, if you ask my husband who's drink of choice is Jack and Coke, he most definitely would disagree!!! Each whiskey has it's own unique flavor and if it's Jack they like, it's Jack I'd give! Good luck, the only thing I could recommend is maybe looking for a Jack Daniels t-shirt or something to go with it instead!?!?

Being a big Jack Daniels fan myself, I would suggest Gentleman Jack (it's much smoother than the black label JD).
I will occasionally (when I'm looking for a change) get a bottle of Maker's Mark, it's got a different flavor than Jack Daniels, but in my opinion it's also a good whiskey.

Nearly every whiskey on the planet is better than Jack Daniels honestly.
But if he does like JD, then Gentlemens Jack, and thats the way to go.

Stick with the Jack but buy Jack Daniel's Single Barrel. It's sooooooo good.
