I have not tried grappa but the most disgusting drink in the entire world to me is egg nog. It is like a glassful of thick mucous. Idiot neighbors had a party a few years back and insisted that it is the best tasting drink ever. F---ing disgusting!!! I still want to strangle them.

What? You think that it should be made from the grapes and not from the stems? Try a cheap slivowitz or rice-based arrak if you want undrinkable alcohol.
grappa is disgusting. it is the bologna of the booze world, made from stems and seeds and the leftover junk from wine making.
It definitely is a cultural taste. Many Italians love the stuff, Personally I am not fond of it but I hate most home made wines much much more.
