Jameson or Bushmills?!

Question: and do you know why people in Ireland would drink one but not the other?

GeneH's source is correct. If you look at the bottles, all of the catholic whiskeys have green on the label (Paddys, Jameson, Brennan's, etc and Bushmills has the orange.
It's funny how many people in the US drink Bushmills on St. Patrick's Day, a catholic holday...

I've never tried either of them (at least that I can remember!). Some people are just stuck on their favorites. Cheers, pour one of each and I'll give them a try!

It's funny. I had an Irish teaching assistant who taught Latin explain it to me.

Jameson is made by the catholics. Bushmills is made by the protestants. The catholics drink Bushmills and the protestants drink Jameson. Beats me why!

It's all a matter of taste. In a pinch, if theres nothing else an Irishman will drink anything.

Im Irish, Jameson, it tastes just that little bit better and 12yr old reminds my of my granddad

Jameson......All the way

You may or may not believe this but in 92 (Sorry I can't remember the date) I was on R and R with folks from my Unit in Ireland. We went to the Jameson Distillery for a tour and I was selected to partake in a blind taste test of six (I think) Irish Whiskys. I narrowed it down to two and when forced to make a selection I did, and it was Jameson. The other was Paddys. It was an honest blind taste test. For whatever reason there was a photographer there from Stars and Stripes Newspaper and the picture of me taking a shot made the front page....I guess that was my moment...lol.

Jameson is the best...smooth.... it will nibble at you but not bite you.....in my humble opinion.

Jameson is associated with the catholics while bushmills is associated with the protestants.
