What rum is good for eggnog?!

Question: This year for Christmas, my family and I are trying a new tradition of adding spirits to our eggnog, which we always have in ample supply of. We already got the brandy, and bourbon, but we're unsure of what kind of rum to get? If heard that both light and dark rum work with eggnog? Is there another rum besides Captain Morgan's that we can use?

I've never had eggnog, but from what I've seen, you can use light or dark rum. I'd go with dark. Captain is a good choice, Bacardi would also work.

If you throw out the suggestion and go spiced, you might want to pick up a small bottle of Sailor Jerry spiced naval rum. It's stronger than Captain Morgan (Sailor jerry is 92 proof), but I think it tastes better...worth a try if you use spiced rum for anything.

Sure you can always use Bacardi. But I always use Southern Comfort,.. maybe I'm partial cause I'm from the south.

Use light Capt. Morgans! You cant beat the Capt. Anything else will taste silly.

I always use brandy, but I would suggest Cruzian gold, very smooth....or Bacardi Black...

pretty much any rum would work, but it all depends on your taste.

southern comfort if you like it sweet
captain morgan for the average drinker
but if you really want a kick, i would go bacardi

dark spiced rum works best, try stroh rum.

Skip the egg nog and just drink the rum by itself. Egg nog is some pretty nasty stuff. I equate it to a glassful of really thick mucous. A simply disgusting drink concoction.
Good times!!!
