It all depends on the actual beer. The different shaped glasses effect taste of the beer differently. I have in the past tended to go with a tulip when in doubt about the proper glassware. Last night I used the Samuel Adams glasses (
http://www.realbeer.com/edu/betterglass.... )for the first time and was blown away by the effect they had on the taste.
Truly these are a glass to be reckoned with. I'm looking forward to further experimentation to see how they do with other beers than Sam's lineup.
I'm a fan of the 1 pint mason jars. Nothing wrong with the Mondo pitcher sized Steins though either :)

On Schiphol (Amsterdam) airport they serve Heineken, at the "last stop" before boarding, in really big glasses which are like the classic glasses you get at any pub, but "large".
They also sell them but aren't too fussy when one "accidentally" ends up in your luggage, as they get them for free from the brewery.
