Any wine connoisseurs out there?!

Question:

Any wine connoisseurs out there?

I would like some advice on what wine to try bearing in mind i only like white and it has to be dry.

My current favourite wine is a Chardonnay and usually australian.

Many thanks.

Answers:
I am a lover of the dry whites as well. Here are a few of my suggestions. I know you are looking for Chards, but try a few of the others if you are up for it!

Acacia - Chardonnay - tastes like butter - one of the best!
Atlantua - Pinot Grigio
Barton & Guestier - Vouvray
Beringer - NAPA VALLEY - Charddonay *not the Founders Estate!!!
Chalone VIneyards - Chardonnay - not to bad either!
Chateau St. Jean Sonoma - Chardonnay
Dry Creek - Fume Blanc
Drylands Marlbourough - Sauvignon Blanc
Smoking Loon - Viogner (NOT THE CHARD...GAG)

I also reccoment Taz and Wolf Blass if you are willing to spend a little more. I have a few local wineries close to me that I frequent, if you can find them - Hartwood Winert, Ingleside Winery, Rockbridge and Church Creek have some wines that I like as well. Go to local vineyards if you have any near you! They'll often give free or cheap tastings and you might discover a new favorite! Enjoy!

Try a Pinot Grigio or a crisp Chablis. They are a long way removed from the, frankly, unpleasant oakiness of the Australian Chardonnays.

your in the right area. i only drink new world whites too. there are some great ones out there like, bear crossing, hardy's stamp etc. take a trip to your local Asda, they have some great ones in there and price is good too...

I would advice: Muller-Thurgau,which is a white wine coming from those beautiful lands between Trentino (north of Italy) and Austria. Then, Pigato, again white coming from Liguria, the region of olive trees facing Tirrenian sea. Last, but not least, Treminner, white coming from Friuli, italian but with the taste of East Europe.
Sorry, beeing italian affects my way of drinking. That's why only italian wines.

Pinot Grigio would be a good choice.

If you want to be taken seriously in the wine world, shun those whites and drink old world reds.

Go to a GOOD liquor store and talk to the Sonlier or even the store clerk and get some recommendations from them.

New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Marlborough is a good brand. I love the stuff and drink far too much of it. It's very fruity and refreshing but still dry. Cheers!

Try a nice German Riesling or Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley of France. There are also Australian Semillon Chardonnay blends that are nice as well as Pinot Grigio from Italy. I love also Prosecco di Valdobiadene from Veneto. And how about an Austrian Gruner Veltliner?Enjoy!

wine connoisseurs do wineOs count we know lots about wine

Pinot Grigio and Orvieto are both worth a look. Check out the Germans too. Mosel is often good. I only like sweet whites, so leave the Liebfraumilch alone and be careful of any Sauternes. Try white bordeaux, There are some filthy Austrian whites I would not clean my car with, but the locals swear by them. They are very dry, but if you don't mind losing the inside of your cheeks, then fine. Locals drink it by the pint.

Try:

Spanish. Monopole by CVNE. Vina Sol by Torres,

German. Any good Troken wien.

Australian Reisling.

Chile. Any by Concha y Toro

Argentina. Something from Mendoza (the place)'

Try a Sauvignon blanc from the Loire Valley or New Zealand
