A part can be any amount you wish. What is refers to is the ratio of liquor to mixer. If it says 1 part vodka and 2 parts OJ it means that you use twice as much OJ. If you want to make a large portion it could be cups or even gallons.

Example:

2 part Kahlua
2 part vodka
1 part cream

could be read as:

2 ounces Kahlua
2 ounces vodka
1 ounce cream

or

2 gallon Kahlua
2 gallon vodka
1 gallon cream

See?

a bit; a section.

All of the above! Take whatever measure you want, just use it consistently when you make the drink. i.e. 1 part liquor and 5 parts juice, you can use 1 shot, cup, gallon(!), or even handful liquor and mix with 5 of the same - shots, cups, gallons or handfuls... You get the picture.

It means use the same measure for all the ingredients. Such as, "use 1 part of vodka to three parts rum", means use 1 cup of vodka and three cups of rum, or one shot of vodka and three shots of rum, or one gallon of vodka and three gallons of rum....

The size of the measure doesn't matter as long as you keep the proportions the same.
