Buying rum?!

Question: I want to buy someone I know a bottle of rum for Christmas. He likes rum and coke (the times that he drinks). I dont know much about the different types of liquor out there. Can u tell me a good brand of rum that I could buy? Nothing too expensive or too cheap. Thanks in advance.

Any Rum at all will do when mixed with Coke.
I suggest you purchase an Anejo Rum, a rum that's been aged and rested for a while.
While it's fine qualities will be lost when mixed with anything, it will be appreciated when sipped like fine Cognac.
Go to your local large yet respected liquor store; they have a vested interest in suggesting something very interesting!

Captain Morgan

I second the vote for Captain Morgan. It's a nice tasting brand that won't break the bank.

if you want the best rum since it is Christmas i would recommend a bottle of Ron Anejo Aniversario it will cost around 30 bucks for a bottle but its arguably one of the best rums available. But if you want to get a rum that still tastes great that is a little cheaper i would go with Meyer's Dark Rum.

Captain Morgan
when you sail with the captain
you get there! You ain't know?
you betta ask somebody!!! LOL

Lemon Hart,[dark.demerara]
Appleton's estate,Jamaican ,nice
Bacardi 8,aged amber

Meyers dark rum is great for the price. Yes, some of the flavor is lost when mixing it, but it's still a great rum.

It might even make him appreciate rum straight or on the rocks if he really likes rum.

stroh rum. it is delicious mixed with coke.
