can someone categorize these for me..im just curious.
which are rums, beers, wines, etc.

-smirnoff
-hypnotiq
and can u list me off a few others that would fit into those categories? im just confused about this stuff. lol.

Bacardi is a brand of rum.
Absolut is a brand of vodka.
Smirnoff is also a brand of vodka.
Hypnotiq is basically a mixed drink in a bottle made up of cognac, rum and fruit juice.
Examples:
Rums - Bacardi, Captain Morgan's (spiced), Myers, Malibu
Vodkas - Absolut, Smirnoff, Stolichnaya, Grey Goose, Ketel One
Gins - Tanqueray, Bombay, Beefeater
Tequilas - Cuervo, Cabo
Scotch - Glenlivet, Glenfiddich, Chivas
Bourbons - Jim Beam, Bulleit, Wild Turkey
Cordials - Bailey's, Amaretto, Cassis
Schnapps - Goldschlager, Rumpleminze, Fire Water
Brandys/Cognacs - Christian Brothers, Hennessey
Scotchs, Bourbons and Whiskey are similar, in a very general sense. They are alcohols made from grains. Their difference comes from what grain was used and how it was distilled and aged. They are generally caramel colored.
Vodkas are made from potatoes or other vegetables and are generally a clear liquor.
Gins are made from juniper berries and are also generally a clear liquor.
Tequila is made from the agave plant and can be clear or caramel colored depending on how it was distilled and aged.
Rums are made from the sugar cane plant and are generally clear unless flavored or spiced, then they can be caramel colored.

bacardi is generally rum; smirnnoff & absolut is vodka. never heard of the last one.
