A 750ml bottle will yield between 17 and 20 drinks based on the above numbers.
42 proof is some weak stuff. I remember in OH they watered down the liquor, though that was some years ago, and may have changed.
There's around 25 ounces (25.36 to be precise,) and I like 2 oz. of 40 proof, so with your 1/2 test, I'll say you have just over 6 drinks.
Double check your label, or get another bottle.
