There won't be a shortage of Beer, but there will definitely be price increases. The article you reference does explain it well. As a brewery owner I've had to borrow money to pay for hops we don't need till next year. Our malted barley prices are up 30%, hops up 400%. Somebody has to absorb the cost increases and Breweries can't absorb all of it, the consumer will have to pay more.

What beer shortage?

Without beer, I'll just have to find something else for breakfast...

Depending on what religion you follow, some people prefer the shortage.

beer ??? yeah, ok, I'll have one..........

I do not see a shortage in the liquor store. It seems this situation described in the article affects the microbreweries mostly. Budweiser, Miller, the big corporations will probably not feel any pain from this. Unfortunately, it is the microbreweries that make some of the best tasting beer as opposed to the big corporations like Budweiser who make an inferior product.

Well when people are more these days , nd u mentioned reasons for shortge .You all should hve obtained from uk the famous beer "Cobra"
Naturally the marketing business stock nd demond raises prices & more over the shortage also due to basic matter

I think it is a shame that we have decided that fuel for our cars is more important than food, and food related products. The price of grain and other commodities, hops included, have gone through the roof. Grain affects so many things from bread, to beer, to livestock feed, and much more. If we see a greater shortages of food, cheap fuel is going to seem very unimportant to many hungry people.

I rarely look/watch news, but I don't know why the USA have to always talk about importing. I'm sure somewhere in the USA they are growing some HOPS. Yeah, yeah better quality supposedly abroad. Better clue for the USA to get on its JOB and start doing better at HOME base.
For a individual personal use of beer, get some hops yourself (herb store) steep it, cool it and add some club/carbonated water to it. Then put your own label on it.

There is no beer shortage yet. There is a hop shortage and grain prices are going up. This means that breweries will have to change their recipes a little or make new ones up.
