What you'll need is:
2 parts gin
1 part freshly squeezed lemon juice
drizzle of sugar syrup
chilled carbonated water to taste
Mix the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup in a tall glass with ice, top up with soda water, garnish and serve in a Collins Glass!

This is the best:
2 oz. Beefeaters or Tangueray Gin
1 oz fresh lemon juice
1 tsp. superfine sugar
Mix together with 4-5 ice cubes and stir well. Add 3 oz. club soda. Serve in a tall glass.
Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a slice of lemon.

In a shaker half-filled with ice cubes, combine the gin, lemon juice, and sugar. Shake well. Strain into a collins glass almost filled with ice cubes. Add the club soda. Stir and garnish with the cherry and the orange slice.
they make a tom collins mixer and all you have to do is add gin! easy enough :)
