Can a keg be used twice with the same beer?!

Question:

Can a keg be used twice with the same beer?

Hi,

I had some ppl over and i got a keg for the night...we didn't finish due to the lack of ppl at my house...anyways theres about half the keg left and I was wondering if I can reuse the same beer for next weekend by putting the keg in some ice next time I serve it..

Thanks

Answers:
If you used a CO2 tap system to pressurize the keg, the beer will keep for several weeks.

But, if you used an air pump system, which is the normal tap supplied with the beer, it will not keep. Not only will your beer be flat after a week, but it will lose its taste because the air you've put into the keg has started to oxizide the beer.

You can keep it cold, and you can still drink it, but it probably won't have much carbonization or taste.

Yes, you can. Don't wait too long or it'll go flat....ewww. You can also get them refilled (for a fee of course).

Sure you can. As long as the keg wasn't bled of CO2 pressure before disconnecting the tap the first time. If it was, you'll have flat beer.

Co2 it or you'll have flat beer.

It depends - if you have used CO2 to dispense there should be no problem. If however the beer has been exposed to air (on in general anything with oxygen) as can be the case when you have dispensed with compressed air or gravity, that will have a very negative effect on the taste due to oxidation, not to mention the risk of infection.
