What is a good light and fruity flavored champagne?!

Question: I'm not a regular champagne connoisseur , but would like to try some this new year's. I like light and fruity wines like Pinot Grigio, so I figure I would like this type of flavor of champagne. Budjet is a concern. I don't want anything too expensive, but not the Pap's Blue Ribbon of champange either.

My two picks are

Piper Sonoma Blanc de Noir about 10-15 per bottle, they make a brut if you want it drier and

Mumms Cordon Rouge-about 30 and up-all around perhaps the best.

Try this one. It is Chilian Sparkling wine, brut, made by Miguel Torres. If you don't know this winemaker he is one of the best in the world. He was the first foreigner who came to Chile and began wine winemaking.
As it is Chilian wine it will be rather fruity... But it still will be Brut!
If you are interesting in the real Champagne... I think all french Champagne are rather acidic because the climat in the Champagne is rather cold, so grape isn't so sweet as in the Chile. As a result a wine is acidic and a champagne will be acidic.

I agree with torre as true traditional champagnes tend to be a bit drier but one of my all time favorites...

Vueve Clicqout - generally moderatly priced retail between 30 - 70 bucks a bottle depending on the grade you purchase, but the regular brut is smooth...hints of green apple and looks and sound alot more expensive than truely is....
