Tryed beer for the first time last night and my whole body turned red?!

Question: I tryed beer for the first time last night and after i finished the whole bottle, my whole body turned red, even my legs, arms, etc. I'm wondering why i'm turning red and my face was also red, but i wasn't drunk or anything because i wasn't dizzy, didn't have a headache and didn't feel like throwing up. Does this happen to first timers? because i stopped turning red after like an hour or so.

Interesting. Here's an article on alcohol allergies:

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/alcohol...

"Many people of Asian descent experience an unusual flushing reaction after drinking alcohol — even in very small amounts. This is caused by a genetic disorder in which the body is unable to break down alcohol completely. Some research suggests that people who experience alcohol flush reaction may be at increased risk of alcohol-related conditions, such as cancer of the esophagus and liver disease."

If I were you, I would definitely consider a future WITHOUT alcohol.

You had an allergic reaction. My best friend turns red when she drinks. She still drinks but only in moderation.

Are you perhaps of Asian descent? This is evidently pretty common in that part of the population... I searched this to find a bit more info and came up with a website with more info:

This can happen in other types also, just far more common with Asians. Alcohol does tend to cause some flushing in all imbibers (note the common portrayal of a drunk with a red nose and/or cheeks) but that much blushing is less common.

are you asian? all my asian friends turn bright red after drinking. . .

It is more than likely an allegric reaction (no matter your race)

Are you asian? that happens to a lot of asain people. but my old boyfriend was white and it happened to him a lot too. some sort of alergy.

It might be the hops in the beer. My ex had the same thing the more beer the darker then sorer the limbs became, some have an allergy try finding an ale thats not high in hops...He gave up and drank wine or spirits...enjoy!!
