How to clean keg-o-rater lines?!

Question:

How to clean keg-o-rater lines?

Does anyone have a procedure or know where i can get one for cleaning home keg-o-rater lines?

Answers:
When you clean the keg itself, fill it with hot soapy water and run it through the tapper.

Repeat with rinse water.

Repeat with a no rinse sanitizer such as one-step.

This is how I have been cleaning my kegorater lines for the past 3 years and I have yet to encounter a problem.

The key is to not let the beer stagnate in the lines, it will get all gummy and then it is a royal pain to get cleaned up.

no bt stick a long stick up dere lol, cheers 4 2 points

I have a Danby Kegerator from Home Depot. You can call them at 1-800-263-2629 for service, including two options for cleaning kits. I went ahead and bought the cheaper of the two, and it's pretty easy. You basically fill a bucket with hot water and cleaning solution, and put the end of the line that connects to the keg in it. Then you fill up a special bottle that fits onto the tap fixture with the same cleaning solution, and run it throug the beer lines. Rinse with straight water a couple times, reattach tap handle and keg, and starrrrrt drinkin'!!

Usually it's easier to replace the lines then clean them. To replace the lines in my beer fridge cost something silly like $0.49 a foot and with a keg-o-rater what are you looking at - 3 feet at most. It was simple, they were held on by a screw clamp.

Just make sure you buy the same size lines, it you get lines too big, the beer pours to fast and foams.

A home brew supply might have a long skinny brush that you can use to clean the tap.
