How do you clean the INSIDE of an old silver flask?!

Question:

How do you clean the INSIDE of an old silver flask?

I bought this old well-crafted silver flask and would actually like to use it. I've used several iterations of hot and soapy water but there are still silver particles coming out of the flask and the alcohol tastes metallic.

Any ideas?

Answers:
If the silver is coming off the flask it is probably not usable and should be for looks only. But if it is 'stuff' inside the flask then put in some uncooked rice, add a drop of liquid dish washing soap, and a little water, cap and shake for 2 minutes, pour out, rinse well, and add clear water, shake and pour out (if there are flakes in the water still, it is NOT usable).

cut 2 lemons into thin strips and together with the juice add some water that can fill up the flask and bring to the boil adding a bit of dishwashing liquid. Once boiled, pour into the flask and cover for about an hour. When you pour out the contents, your flask should be sparkling clean.

along with your Hot soapy water add vinegar, let set for awhile ,rinse and repeat if needed. Hope it works Babs

Put a little baking soda and vinegar in it,
Make sure you have it over the sink. It will start bubbling
and clean the inside out. After a few minutes , rinse with hot water.

Find a container large enough to immerse the item to be cleaned. Put a piece of aluminium foil into the container and add hot water and salt. Dip the silver into the solution and after a few seconds it will become white and shining.

You can also try a mixture of baking soda and water, let soak for a few mins and rinse well.

Fill with Vodka give a shake & drink, nice & disinfected......

Fill with McCormick's Vodka and shake for 10 seconds.
