1999 Carruades de Lafite Pauillac

Offer it to friends who will appreciate it when they visit.
It is a fine bottle, the second label of Ch. Lafite Rothschild, one of the best wines in the world.
It is made from grapes of the younger vines on the estate and should age for 10-15 years from the vintage date.
Your storage conditions seem fine, don't worry, just leave it lying there until you are ready to crack it.
If you're thing about it as an investment, forget it. Only the greatest wines of the greatest vintages grow in value.

I would ask a friend to come over and drink it
with me, ideally.

Or you could have dinner and serve it there.

You should either share it or give it to someone you know who might enjoy it.

Pam

Get a few people to share it with you.

Has it been properly stored?

Hi, wow....that sounds like wonderful wine. I wish I was your friend and could drink it with you. I'd bring hourdvours! Sorry for the bad spelling!!

dont drink it!!!!!!! save it! when you're old you can sell it for ALOT of money at auctions or you can sell it to wine collectors. you've already got 8 years on it. wait another 50 and you can instantly get a retirement fund.

find an expert and ask for advice on whether you should save it or not. I've been to auctions and i've seen wine bottles being sold at $50,000 and up.

It's a second label wine that scored 89 points on the Wine Spectator ratings scale.
There is no drinkability window listed.

However, because of the low retail price, the fact that its not "first growth", and the abundance of it (25000 cases), I would say drink it any time now.

This will not be one of the $50K wines as another person mentioned. It's a table wine that should be drunk whenver you please. : )

Added: As far as storage, A/C actually can dry the corks out. Check the neck of the bottle and make sure that the level is still ok. If it's low, the bottle may be toast. If you plan on saving it, you may want to invest in a small wine fridge that has humidity controls. : )
