I'm confused... Bud Select, Bud Ice? Michelob ultra, Michelob light? what's the diff?!

Question: For macro beers like Budweiser and Natty the "Ice" term generally means that their is a higher alcohol content. Its not much, maybe a difference of 4.6 abv and 5.4 abv. "Light" is self explanatory but the "Ultra" is honestly just a marketing scheme. The main target for Michelob Ultra is women and the term is intended to imply great taste and low calories.

**And I'm not implying you are girly if you are a man drinking Michelob Ultra, its just that women really are the targeted consumers**

That's all one class of beer - the 'water' class. Next step up is things like Pete's Wicked, Fat tire, Killian's Red, Sam Adams. You know, things you can actually taste.
