Why are most alcoholic beverages bitter?!

Question: Why don't they make some that tastes really great?

Answers: Why don't they make some that tastes really great?

Some of the perceived bitterness is because when the sugars are fermented away to produce the alcohol, it becomes less sweet.

most alcohol is fermented, and when that happens you are aging it so it tends to get sweet and bitter.

Cuz they caught their girlfriend cheating on them!

Like Budweiser? You can't come to my party on new year's.

Alcohol itself doesn't taste great, so stronger drinks will taste worse. Try some mixed drinks or barely alcoholic drinks if you want it to taste better.

well, chopper reid...."harden the **** up"

:)

Despite how good it makes us feel, alcohol is truly a poison. It is the hardest, most addictive drug on the planet. If it tasted great, I believe it would be so much more dangerous. Thank god it is hard to drink. Our tongue recognizes it as a poison straight away and then our liver treats it as such. I hope this answers your question. They do make some that taste great, but you must acquire the taste for them. This is another way of saying that ya gotta used to your poison.

Lots of them are not i.e sherry port Marsala advoccat and lots of cocktails mixed drinks.
