Liquor license?!

Question:

Liquor license?

in new york, how long does it take to get one? and how long is it valid for?

Answers:
I don't know about NY. But I have dealt with LCC in Iowa and Michigan. Some cities are limited to the number of licenses issued at a time. This means that there is no other way to get a license than to buy one from someone going out of business. Sometimes it is just a matter of applying to the Liquor Control Commission of your state.

Either way they do a very thorough background and likely financial check on you to make sure they are not issuing one to a liability. Once it goes to the board and is approved, you will have to pay for it and prove you have the insurance needed. This could be done in 30-60 days I guess.
It is not cheap however and should not be entered into lightly.

This is not a complete list of what it will take. It is only the beginning.

Hey this is a great question!!! Go to ServSafe.com, they will have everything you need to know there. The certification last for 5 years and it takes about 2 weeks to recieve your results. Great luck to you.
