What is the best beer to you, dollar for dollar?!

Question: Lets assume here in America that budweiser is the standard, the average.

I've tried buying cheaper beer that would give me the least headache/hangover as possible and I've came up with Natural Ice and Natural Light. Also Miller Lite and Miller Genuine draft.

I've tried plenty of other brands, but they are mostly lager and not good in the long run. Examples are Hurricane, Magnum, Colt, Steel Reserve, Ice House (not as bad as the others) Strolh (spelling) and on and on...

If I'm just looking for an inexpensive session beer* for say an evening out with the friends or just sitting a drinking after work I pick a couple different depending on my tastes at that moment. My go to beer in the past has generally been Hoegaarden, with its hints of coriander and orange, a great Belgium White. When I'm at the Bowling Alley I generally get a Sam Adams Lager... though I find this one fills me up quickly. On a cold winter night or with a nice juicy steak I'll reach for something dark like a Guinness.

Not to offend, but the beers you listed are all sub-par... really they are considered to be some of the worst beers in the world. Yes even Budweiser and MGD. There is an entire world of beer out there that is worth exploring and realizing that dollar for dollar... I'd rather spend my money on something that tastes good.

* A session beer is one of low alcohol content that allow one to consume several in one sitting. Your average session beer (much like Budweiser and Miller products) are in the 4-5% ABV (Alcohol By Volume) range. Premium beers can range form 4% to nearly 30% ABV. Needless to say you can't consume a six pack of 21% 120 Minute IPA and walk away like you could drinking a sixer of Bud Light at 4.2%.

EDIT:

You named three of the WORST imports you can possibly purchase. Those are the Bud Lights of their respective countries.

MGD. everything else (even imported german beers) gives me a headache.

heinken we buy the little kegs for fridge so hubby can have a cold one when he gets home.

bud light... hangover
miller light.... no hangover!!!!!

I'm an aussie, so I dont know american beers. I drink tooheys new(draught) beer mostly. There is a lot of new low carb beers coming out too which should be better. Budweiser is crap, I cant drink that either. Most light beers help with the hangover, except they bloat you, because you drink more.

Miller Genuine Draft!!!

ONE dollar, good grief my friend, you will only get a sniff for that money, here in our great UK. Happy sniffing!

Anything Samuel Smith...

MGD

Expand your horizons and try some imports, they are worth the money and you'll never go back to Bud Light again.

You're an alcoholic, that's why.

Sam Adams, hands down, is the best inexpensive beer out there. They've got a great variety and their seasonals are always awesome. Goose Island has been doing some great brewing lately as well. Now, my husband and I are self-declared "beer snobs," and drink almost exclusively Belgian ales at this point, BUT there's nothing like an ice cold PBR sometimes! And you can get a case of 30 for about $15! AND no hangover!

I drink Carling Light.

Budvar - get your self a cold Budvar and have a good beer.

Dollar for dollar, the best beer is a homebrew. If you don't like it, you can adjust the process to get something better.

I drink Keystone
$4.89 / 12 pak,,, simalar price for 24 an 30 but not the 41¢ /can..Btw + tax and CRV = 50¢ / can

keystone light is the best price u can get especially if u can find it on sale./..no hangover and very light ...but price for quality u can not beat sam adams happy new year

I use to drink MGD but it has a heavy feeling, now i drink Coors light or bud light

I always get made fun of... but, I'm a Bud Light girl...
