What is a good type of Vodka to buy?!

Question: I dont buy much alcohol but going to get some vodka for sure tonight, what kind should I look for?

I dont want any crappy tasting cheap paint thinner vodka either...

Grey Goose?

And nothing super expensive!

Grey Goose is getting near the super-expensive range (about $30 here). Grey Goose is considered "ultra-premium". Realize you can still get a "premium" vodka, like Stolichnaya ($20) and save some money.

If you just want something "good", pick Smirnoff ($13), which is a good value.

As far as mixing, if you don't generally enjoy the taste of alcohol, this is the best advice I can give: get flavored vodka. All of those brands make flavored versions, and they taste delicious. Orange goes with the most stuff. You can buy a bottle of Pepsi Lime, a bottle of orange soda and a bottle of cranberry juice to go with it. Then you'll have 3 different cocktails. The next best flavor would be lemon, i think. And you can go with flavored rum instead. It tastes just as good as vodka.

Plain liquor is tough to mix with stuff because it dilutes the flavors. Bartenders can do it right, because they have really cool-tasting liqueurs that they put in cocktails to make them taste good.

Stoli is a very good vodka....

You can use straight on the rocks with a sugared lemon...just delicious

My brother is really into vodka. He made friends with this russian computer programmer guy and they went to Vegas to a High end Vodka Bar. The russian dude laughed at the top shelf stuff imported and said that wasn't even the good stuuf in Russia. He reccommended a vodka from Finland. I think it was called Finlander or Finnish but it clearly says on the bottle from Finland.

have fun. Cheers

Stoli and Smirnoff are my fav's!

Shakers ~ it's new and really good.

I hate grey goose. Smirnoff watermelon is delicious and cheap :) Tastes like jolly ranchers!

i love the goose... greygoose that is...... its good straight or mixed with anything.(both sweet ad sour)

Swedish vodka also very good. I like it mixed with 7-up or Sprite with a little lime. It's also an excellent with Red Bull. I'm not nuts about the fruit juices but if I had to I'd say cranberry juice. Enjoy!

Grey Goose, stoli, and I personally like absolut

Chase it down with a red bull or another energy drink, although I do it, I can't recommend doing it since it is potentially dangerous (depressant + stimulant) I've never had a bad experience with it though and usually feel a normal drunk

grey goose, belvedere tastes just as good (though it's made from rye not wheat like grey goose)

mix with cranberry or raspberry/cranberry juice, tonic, red bull

but goose is yummy enough on it's own

stoli,or Smirnoff
not absolute
grey goose way overpriced ,all hype
Smirnoff consistently wins blind taste tests
stoli is nice Russian vodka
Chopin is the smoothest,but $$$$$$$
ketel 1 is good too

Absolut and Stoli are both good and reasonably priced. Vanilla Stoli and orange juice together tastes like a dreamsicle. A lot of people are big fans of pomegranite juice with vodka, too.

Grey Goose is overpriced. Stoli's is a good vodka for a reasonable price. If you have a Costco, try there 5 times distilled Kirkland vodka. It is their house brand and comes in a larke bottle for ~$30. Don't let the Kirkland label fool you, it is among the best vodka you can find.
