Answers: was it good or did it taste like kerosene?

Yes, I have had some that was pretty good and other that was down right nasty.

ooooooooo yehhhhhhhhh,,,,,,,,,,,,firewater,,,,,,,,... of a sour burning taste,,,,,,,,

Yes it's disgusting.

Yes, I am from KY and I could always count on at least one of my friends have some available. I thought it was very similar to a 151. I kept it in the freezer and drink it straight.

Yes. It tasted strong, harsh and burned like crazy. I put various mixers in it to try to mask the taste: It didn't help. But the "buzz" is good and there was no hangover afterwards. I don't think I could ever drink it again. YUcK!

xorry for ma tiping skills bot i am blind coz i dunk mooshiine and got poisoning.

yes it was like battery acid.

yes, it didn't taste bad, it wasn't as strong as people make it seem.

never had it... dont want it

yes and it is not made to be drank it is made to be sipped very slowly

Yes we make it with peaches and strawberrys to ferment in it and then it tastes real good

You should try the peach flavored moonshine. My husband picked some up in Tennessee and it was yummy! Just a little big over ice.

many times, it was very smooth, they knew what they were doing

Mrdec,
I tasted some at a bonfire party back in the woods many years ago, but I spit it out and didn't swallow it. For the record, it tasted like crap. Anyway, there was plenty of other stuff to drink without taking risks on moonshine. The problem w/ moonshine is that if the person making it isn't really careful, they can end up with methanol mixed in. You can't taste the difference because most moonshine isn't that tasty to start with. 1 tablespoon of methanol will blind you. 2 will kill your liver and/or kidneys and make you very, very sick. 3 tablespoons will kill you.

Is it worth the risk, knowing that messing up is as simple as doing the fermentation a bit wrong? Did you watch them make it? How can you know it's ok until it's too late for someone?

You may already know about all this - I'm just making 100% sure that you are aware of it.

Have fun, but please get blasted safely! (sounds like I'm kidding, but I'm not. It's perfectly reasonable and possible to get good and drunk in a safe environment without taking any crazy chances.)
