Do you lose your street cred if you *love* a $5 bottle of wine?!

Question: Ok, I had this Spanish wine in a restaurant and really enjoyed it. Then I went to a liquor store and saw it was on sale for $5 (50% off, but still).

Is everyone going to make fun of me because I really like a relatively cheap wine?

Absolute nonsense. They don't need to know the price first of all and sometimes the retailer makes mistakes in the customers favor. I was buying an inexpensive (not cheap) Chianti in the grocery store and I realized that they had not rotated their stock properly. I found a 2002 vintage for the price of a current vintage! The price rarely has a lot to do with the taste of the wine. Look for factors such as region, grape variety and vintage(age). All of these mean so much more to you and your taste buds than price. Shop around for good deals on cases and age them yourself if you have the patience. It will always pay off in the end. Anyone who makes fun of you for buying inexpensive (not cheap) wines would be a snob in my book. Cheers!

If you like it, what do you care what other people think?

Just so long as it's not MD or Night Train yer cool with me...

No- just because it is cheap- doenst mean it was made in China- You will be ok in my world! Aint nuthin like a cheap drunk!

I've been to Spain and drank Spanish wine. I've drank Spanish wine here in Boston. It's good s***. Blue laws prevent 50% off wine here, so if it's good-*** wine, it's good-*** wine. Buy it, drink it, and be merry!

Just peal the price tag off.

If this is a problem then bottle it anew under another label or none at all. Street cred evolves from what is known. Suck it up but don't share.

Let them scoff! One of my favourites sells for around that& it is very tasty.

Nah, I love Barefoot and Sutter Home. You've heard of wine snobs?? I'm a wine slob.

People that I know that are "Wine Drinkers" would "Frown on that", if you know what I mean? some just think if it isn't expensive, then it's something for the low class. Drink what you like.

Heck, no, if you won't make fun of me for hating ALL wine.
I can't stand the scent (which sounds nicer than "smell").

Give me Coke Classic any day.

Whatever, man, thats just like your opinion. I really like Carlo Rossi wine, which I can get for about $10 per huge jug. You can like whatever you want (as long as its not The Eagles).

The Dude abides.

Omg! Your are now barred from all wine tastings!! JUST KIDDING. I still get down with a $10 battle of Riesling. Your secrets safe with me!
