ooohhhhh, tough question. Hmmm...I like both, if I have to choose................a good single malt scotch.
Single malt scotch - both neat, and on the rocks.
Adding water (or ice) will change the flavour / character.... so its good to try both, depending on the strength.
Once you develop a taste for good single malts....its an expensive one way trip....there's no way you would go back to 'Johnny Walker' hahahaha
For the best single malts, try the Scotch Malt Whisky Society - they do independent bottlings from all the major distilleries.....prior to chill filtering (which makes them have more flavour....and a little stronger).
Aside from that, my favourites are the Glenlivet 18yr, and Lagavulin 16yr.
