indeed you can - if you are talking about traditional fruit cake with royal or marzipan icing

just make sure you wrap it very well

Yes extremelly well - and we froze the top half of our wedding cake and then defrosted it for our child's christening.

Just a word of advice - you might want to portion it before you freeze it - that way you may get more use out of it.

Usually Christmas cake contains alcohol, therefore you would be unable to freeze it as alcohol does not freeze properly.

Yes, definately. Don't ask me how though, I only know because whilst I was at my friends house last night she said "I've got my Xmas cake defrosting for New Years eve party"!

if your cake is iced, it must already be frozen. sorry, ho ho

If its a rich fruit cake u dont need to freeze it wrap it up with tin foil etc that's what they do with wedding cake
