Sometimes fruit wines and ciders are slow to start. Be patient, it should start in a few days. I ruined a batch of cider once by putting too much yeast in it. Dried it out terribly, it had no taste at all.

If you are dumb enough to drink that poison I can' help you

What was your original SG? How long has it been since you pitched? There are several variables that could be the reason...
If your grape wine had a higher SG, then the fermentation would be more active. 5 pounds of sugar in a 2 gallon batch seems a bit much, did you use a yeast starter or add nutrient?

My best guess is that you didn't add yeast nutrient. You can add it late or just be patient.
