How do you make a margarita without the mix?!

Question:

How do you make a margarita without the mix?

Answers:
Well, I'm known as the frozen margarita lady, so here's my recipe:

1 small can of frozen limeaid (6 oz or so)
1 can of tequila (use the frozen limeade can)
1/2 can of Triple Sec (use the can again)
Ice

Blend until smooth. Rim the glass with a cut lime and margarita salt and enjoy!

try adding hawaiian punch to the tequila

tequila, cointreau, rose's lime, perhaps a pinch of salt and a dash of lemon juice...then shake it all up, or put it in the blender with plenty of ice...

the perfect margarita contains tequila, Grande Mariner or Triple Sec, the juice of a lime and nothings else. the mix is for the lazy folks that do not know how to squeeze a lime

A margarita is actually a very simple drink. It contains tequila, a liquor, lime juice, and that's about it. Most mixes contain a high amount of sugar, so you can sweeten yours to taste.

Here are some fancy variations:

Basic Margarita....

1 1/2 ounces tequila
1/2 ounce triple sec
1 ounce lemon juice or lime juice
Rub rim of cocktail glass with rind of lemon or lime, dip rim in salt. Shake ingredients with ice and strain into the salt-rimmed glass.

Here is a great recipe for a frozen rita =)
1-1/2 cups good tequila, 1/2 cup Grand Marnier, 1/3 bottle of beer, 1 can frozen lemonade concentrate, A big long healthy squirt of Real Lemon, A big long healthy squirt of Real Lime, Water or Ice to fill up the blender and sugar to taste.... blend up to yummy perfection

I have always used freshly squeezed lime juice, tequila, & cointreau (1 measure juice, 1.5 measure tequila, .5 measure cointreau). Shake with ice or serve over ice. To make a frozen one, I put mine in the freezer for 3-4 hours, then put it into the blender.
