Relax Riesling in a blue bottle cheaper and pretty good

Give Blue Fish Riesling 2004 a try.

I know I misspelled it, but anything thats in a blue bottle made by Schmitschonne.

German wines are wonderful. Kabinett or Spatlese are sweeter. A real treat, but more costly, are iced wines. These are dessert wines. But they are so good! Have fun trying new wines.

I love Riesling and was referred to it by my wine steward after telling him that I didn't like chardonnay too much. I was an avid follower of Relax for a while until I couldn't find it one day. (Before that I had tried others but they were not memorable enough...) My wine steward suggested Chateau Ste. Michelle's Riesling and informed me that it had won awards and that I was guaranteed to love it. I did and now, when I can't find it (or it's sold out) I resort back to Relax. There was another one that was really good but I need to look for it...I'll let you know! p.s. just a word to the wise....if your looking for sweet, try Moscato (Italian wine)...a little too sweet for my taste but hey, we all got different wine tongues!

I have two favorites!

1. Rosemont Estates - Traminer Riesling Blend

2. Funf (5) Riesling

Both are under $12!!!

I like the Relax, Schmitt Sohne is another good one... and they are both cheap and in blue bottles easy to find

Schmitt-Schonne is excellent.

Oh, my God!, if you are an American and you live in a state with licensed Trader Joe's stores are you in luck!!

TJ's has recently introduced a reisling under its "3 Buck Moe" label (J.W. Morris brand). It is $US 3/bottle in California, $ 4/bottle on the east coast (and probably at TJs in central states, too). It is 12% alcohol but still semi-sweet. It actually is a bit too sweet at that alcohol level for me (I like dry Alsatians) but friends and their friends just rave about it, and I am often asked to pick some up for out-of-state (where there are no TJs) and Canadian friends before my visits.

I like the Turning Leaf Riesling. It is usually on sale at the market for like 6 bucks a bottle. Tasty too.

My two favorites are: Columbia Valley ($12) and Columbia Crest ($10) They are different brands, but both have a sweeter taste!
