Why is getting drunk and wasted so appealing to people?!

Question:

Why is getting drunk and wasted so appealing to people?

I have no idea why anyone would want to do that. Seriously.

Answers:
I drink because i like the taste of alcohol Being drunk just.. kind of comes along with that.

Being drunk or tipsy is kind of fun, too.

It's all about the old saying "To each his (or her) own.". What works for some people may or may not work for others. As for me, I enjoy drinking. I enjoy the taste of the beverages I choose as well. Some people don't enjoy the taste and drink simply to get drunk. That is just what works for them. I enjoy a good buzz as well. I personally don't like getting hammered to the point of sickness. I like to manage my intake to provide myself the best possible buzz over the long haul. Therefore, I'm getting a good drink and enjoying the pleasure of a nice buzz.

Because it feels great, that's why.

It's got me guessing as well, I guess they have more money than brains,

B/c their friends do it, and that you can have fun and funny experiences.

well its kinda fun to once in a while let loose and get a little hammered ...forgot about daily things get a buzz ,feel happy,
it can be a total blast but ...if you dont drink you just dont get it...so its hard to explain...

It's a very effective way to relax. It's also an easy way to socialize and meet new people, especially at college. As long as one doesn't drink TOO much, it can be a lot of fun.

Failing that, it's a method of escapism.

Well, the thing about it is this. The really enjoyable part about drinking is have a few beers and socializing with your friends. But some people have a hard time figuring out what that right amount is. There's that very gray area of having a good time with friends and being wasted.

Drinking is not for everyone. Those who can't figure out when enough is enough should not drink at all.

It's a way of life
