What goes better with a Ribeye steak? Pinot, Syrah, or Cab?!

Question: I agree with the others who said to drink what you ENJOY! Why bother to force a pair of food + wine if you don't particularly care for the wine? So what if it's out of wine etiquette? If you enjoy the taste of a certain wine, then you should be OK to drink it with a favorite meal.

Whatever you decide on, I hope you have a great steak and a delicious wine!

Oooh, a nice Syrah.....

Any hearty red wine like Pinot or Merlot.

I like any sweet red wine...but, the choice of taste would be yours......
Happy new year

generally the Cab.

the enzymes in the red wine help digest the steak.
Also why red wine is often used as a marinade.

however there are no struct rules, drink a wine you will enjoy.

a good cab!

I'd go with the Cabernet.

For yourself, what ever you prefer. All are OK

If you are having guests, suggest a Pinot Noir as it has less of the tanic "bite" and is therefore less offensive.

I spoke to a wine expert recently who told me that the idea that a particular wine goes better with a meal than another is a bit dated. She recommended to drink the wine you like, but understanding that bolder wines are better with meals with bolder tastes and visa versa.

Pinot Noir would be my choice. I'd suggest the 2004 Hartford Court Seven Bench Vineyard Pinot Noir. Very Limited production but may still be available at their website. Happy drinking!!
