It takes an hour per unit to leave the body, starting from when you stopped drinking. Strong wine like this this would have more units per bottle than a wine with say 7.5% vol. If each bottle was 10 units then thats 20 units total which is 20 hours from 1am. You really need to know the amount of units you drank for a better calculation - so if you don't - don't drive. Also the alcohol is in the blood, you can't water it down by drinking water - that will just cure a headache because the brain swells with alcohol and water brings the swelling down - only time gets rid of the alcohol.

no way

Take a cab, it's best not to take a chance.

you should be fine

TAXI !

duh no

It takes 36 hours to be out of your system, I'm afraid :)

Is it really worth the risk ?

My ex was suspended from driving on new years day last year because of the alcohol still in his system

If you have to ask that question then it's a resounding no!!

by 4pm. yes you will. If you make a habit of this why not buy a
breathalyser?

plz do not take risk.

Yes. You drank about 14 units. It takes I hour for the body to process each unit.

No you would still fail a breath test

get a cab

everyones metabolism is different

downside is cabs are still double fare today

It all really depends on your size and also what you have had to eat and drink so far and up to 4pm. Personally I wouldn't chance it, even if you feel ok you could still be over the limit and there is no real way of knowing how close you are to the limit without being breathalysed and the Police are extra vigilant this time of year. Take a taxi just to be safe!

try 24hrs before you drive .nice way to start 2008 drink/drive conviction or causing an accident.

you Will be over the limit.!!

no

I doubt it. I certainly wouldn't.

well theres about 20 units of alcohol there, takes roughly 1 hour to get rid of 1 unit so thats 20 hours. i dont think you will be ok to drive. good on you for checking. stay safe. happy new year.

Depends on how your body reacts to this amount of alcohol in your system.

Considering you are only 15... probably not. ; )

Only if you go really slow while shoutin "BASTARDS" out of the Window and shaking your fist at passers by.

It's about 2 units a glass, and the body gets rid of it about a unit every two hours. There were probably four large glasses to each bottle, so 16 units = 32 hours from when you stopped drinking, don't forget people whose metabolism is slower or faster will need to compensate for that in the calculation.

approximatly 1 hour per each unit drunk and thats even if you had a meal before or since, just not worth it. It isnt only you that would be put at risk, its everyone on the road at the same time. dont do it.

I would say no.

Although there is a formula for working out how long alcohol takes to leave your system, it varies for each individual.

Also, there can be impurities and other chemicals that can remain in your body, possibly adversely affecting your concentration and coordination.

The sensible thing to do would be to leave driving for another day.

NO WALLY.

It really depends on your tolerance level and your body's ability to break down and remove the toxic state you find yourself in. Lots of water and Vitim C in particular will help. Also foods high in fat and salt will help to absorb the alcohol in your system quicker.

Those people quoting statistics and stats aren't being free thinking here. My advice is too get out of your house now and go for an hour long walk to help clear your head and get your body functioning again and up to speed. After that asses whether or not your in a fit state to drive.

No way, dont put other people in danger, havnt you heard on the news all those stories, one man was drunk the night before and decided to drive the next day and ended up killing a family.

i would NOT drive after consuming that amount of alcohol...even if you don't feel like you are impaired your breath test would still be over the limit and that alone is a very costly risk for you and others on the road and if nothing else a huge risk on the wallet....not to mention your driving record....i would definetly weigh out the risk before making a decision to drive....be wise!

Yeah, you'll be fine. Just keep drinking water and eat...it dilutes it. alcohol is most dangerous in an empty stomach.
