Answers: It was served with tequilla at a Margarita's rest. in mystic, Ct.Really was different and was similar to a bloody Mary

This recipe is for Sangrita, not Sangria:

3/4 cup tomato sauce, unseasoned
1/2 cup orange juice
3 tablespoons lime juice
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon chile powder
2 tablespoons Tobasco sauce
PREPARATION:
Mix all ingredients together in a shaker. Serve over ice with a shot of premium tequila on the side.

sangria is red wine with whatever chopped up fruit you care to add, made with splashes of fruit juices (again your choice, match the fruits) you can add some brandy to sweeten, triple sec to tart a bit, or neither, (here is where the tequila must have been added). sour mix was likely added as well (though a true margarita would have fresh lime juice. Sounds worse than either original drink to me (margarita / sangria). but you can nearly guarantee the base is something like this:

4 parts red wine
1 part triple sec
1 part sour mix
1 part tequila
chopped fruit (to your liking)

add more wine or sweeten with fruit juice (cran) or brandy if that was the drink's taste. if it was more margarita like that above base is probably within tweaking range. dont be afraid to experiment.

This was has Tequila. Hope it does the trick.

INGREDIENTS:
1 bottle White Wine, preferably Spanish or Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Gris
1 cup silver Tequila
1/2 cup Triple Sec
1/4 cup fresh Lime Juice
1/4 cup Sugar
2 pints fresh Raspberries or 10 ounce frozen package (thawed)
24 ounces (2 cans) Ginger Ale
ice
Lime wedges, for garnish (optional)
PREPARATION:
Place raspberries in a small bowl and mash with a wooden spoon. Add the white wine, tequila, triple sec, and lime juice to a large glass pitcher. Stir in the sugar and continue stirring until completely dissolved. Stir in the mashed raspberries.
Cover pitcher with plastic wrap and refrigerate for several hours or overnight.

Just before serving, stir in the ginger ale and top off with ice. Strain the sangria into wine or margarita glasses. Add a wedge of lime to the rim of each glass.
