Where do u get yor daily drinking water from? Is it free of cost?!

Question:

Where do u get yor daily drinking water from? Is it free of cost?

Actually I've heard that fruit juices , wine & beer are less expensive than water. Is that true or is that a myth?

Answers:
It all depends where you get if from. Most water that comes from the deep well or a natural source (lake river pond), and goes to a water treatment facility is very cheap and readily available. Cheaper than beer, wine, or fruit juices. You have to grow the fruit for the juice, or grow the hops or grapes AND then fermenent them for the beer and wine repectively. This all takes time and time=MONEY.

On the other hand, some people decide to buy bottled water, which is most likely just regular tap water dripped through a Brita or Pur filter to remove heavy chemicals and make it smell better. They all use carbon as the filter media because it will absorb chlorine, fluorine and the like. However bottled water is insanely expensive. The coroprate heads have found a veritable cash crop here. They can easily get a huge source of tap water for cheap, and carbon, which is basically in the form of charcoal, costs next to nothing. People pay $1 or more for 20oz of water. That is equivalent to about $9.45 a gallon!!! You don't even pay that much for gas in San Fransico. Let's not forget that 30% of the Earth is covered in FRESH water that only needs to be lightly treated to make it drinkable.

So the answer to your question is it depends. If you're talking about water coming from the tap, then yeah it's cheaper than fruit juice, beer, wine, liquor. If you have some Deer Park it's most likely more expensive.

Deep water well. No cost.

A work we've got a water cooler - work therefore pay for the water. At home I drink tap water, although it's not that nice. I pay for my water via water meter so it's not free...

Kitchen faucet.......it's not free but it's a heck of alot cheaper than bottled and it's virtually the same thing.

I get my drinking water from the tap. Im not sure where you've got that idea about beer and wine, I think its a myth!

from the tap. It costs 0.13 eurocents a liter.

bottled at home, water cooler in office. bottled water is very cheap here in spain.

Tap water - I pay monthly water and sewerage charges so no it aint free.

Even if we drink water from the tap it isnt free here in uk, we still pay our water bill.
I dont like drinking it straight from the tap so just use the water filter, its still better to drink alot of it everyday, well i do anyway ;-)

I get my daily drinking water from my kitchen tap!

from the faucet.. but we have a filter just to make sure =P

p.s.
there's no such thing as free these days =)

I buy bottled water usually Aquafina or Dasani.

Kitchen tap, and i pay through my council tax and rates

it's a shame but i actually don't drink much water at all. I come from a rural area and our water tastes nicer than the one here in the big city, which to me taste like toilet water and smells gross. I sometimes drink it (ciyt water) from the bubblers but if the smell is too strong I have to get it bottled from the vending machine. Usually it's free.

Australia's in a big drought at the moment so we're lucky that we can still get free access to water

tap water is fine, if you hate the taste you can put it in a bottle and refrigerate. Cold tap water is better than warm. Sometimes it helps to leave the bottle with no top in the fridge.

Here in the UK we are charged through the nose for everything. My water company is Thames Water so it's certainly not free.
However, I drink most of my water at work. It comes from a cooler and I don't have to pay anything towards it.

We have a well, but we dont drink from it, we get bottled water. Our landlords say theres nowt wrong with the water, but you try telling that to my son who is in and out of hospital with a severe allergy to it.

It depends on the country you live in. Country like Saudi Arabia, where water is at scarce, fruit juices and beer might be cheaper as it can be imported on cheap prices from other countries. Similarly in USA, water/juice/Beer can all of having the same price due to subsidy provided by govt to farmers.

i am living in India, where you can get drinking water with at very low cost like 10 cents per gallon. But fruit juices are expensive and can;t replace the water need. Beer is more expensive than fruit juices here.

The tap..? dur.....

Live in ireland where water is abundant and free although this may change with the new government intorducing water rates.still get free water in work fountain though.I wish beer was less expenisve than water and fruit juice is generally quite expenisve especially the good stuff some times 2 quid for 1 litre carton??might be cheaper to just buy the fruit and make your own?

I get it from the tap, I forget how much I pay monthly now but it's something like £20 a month for water. It tastes rubbish in London so I tend to either drink bottled water and fruit juice. I usually only drink tap water after it has been boiled, I find that whatever they put in it upsets my tummy.

i get my water from the kitchen sink. its free. republic of Ireland.

a well no cost

I get my drrinking water from the cold water tap. We have the best water in the world in Scotland!

I guess it is true. I tend to drink tap water more often than bottled water, why pay for it when you get it for free or almost free. Plus bottled water is not as pure as some people would like to believe.

From the tap usually. It costs for the electricity to pump it out of the ground, so it is not free.

At the current rate of inflation you are probably right that Juices, Wine and Beer are probably cheaper - Have you seen the size of my Water rate?
To be fair, in the UK, our tap water is probably the best that you will get anywhere - why pay for bottled water - particularly when an awful lot of it comes from France - NBonaparte could not beat us because on the English channel - lets keep it that way. Nite to you all.

From the dispenser in the refrigerator door

i go to the shop every morning and buy a 1.5 litre bottle of still mineral water which costs 90p, that lasts me all day at work and then when i get home i just drink tap water!

In my local pub something like a half coke is about £1.20 which is prob equal to half lager. But if i was to buy a bottled juice like J2O that would cost about £1.85 which is really expensive and it only contains about half a pint. A pint of Bitter costs about £2.20 and lager is about £2.50. A still mineral water bottle in the pub which is about 375ml costs £1.25
