Around here, beer is the drink of choice. Our Super Bowl parties are very casual with lots of hearty appetizers, casual clothes and a big TV. People seem to prefer this type party after the more formal holiday parties in the so recent past.

However, should you prefer to serve wine, the most important consideration in your choice would be how well it will complement your dinner menu. I would not hazard a recommendation without at least knowing the main course.

I don't drink to much myself but agree that merlot, cabernet sauvignon and chardonnays are great choices for any dinner party. Report It

It depends on what your eating. For steak or chili a nice inexpensive merlot would be good. Remember you will be drinking a lot so something simple makes sense to me.

kendall jackson chardonay if you like white or same k&j cabernet if you like red. good luck.

    Beer goes better with football.

the idea of turning the super bowl into a dinner party with nice wine is such an oxymoron. Tacky by trying to hard.
