Best type of place to work as a cocktail waitress?!

Question:

Best type of place to work as a cocktail waitress?

Answers:
Try to work for a major chain hotel that offers benefits in addition to whatever you make in salary & tips. Hotel chains offer advancement opportunities and the opportunity to change locations w/o changing employers.

Benefits like health insurance and paid vacation & sick leave may not seem very important when you are age 22, but that can change fast.

Hotel chains are also large organizations and you are much less likely to be fired on a whim or because someone wants to give their new special friend a job.

Hotels or vegas baby

High end ritzy place. Or Hooters.

This question really depends on where you live. If you mean type of place as in venue - you always want to shoot for a nightclub. It's extremely difficult to get hired at one - but if you do that's you're first choice. Next choice is going to be a bar. Scope out some places where you live that you like. Look at the kind of people who go there. Check out the prices of drinks. Do they have some sort of attraction (DJ, live music, karaoke, great jukebox). You are looking for high traffic, easy-going crowd, and a place that does steady business all night. Hotels are fine (but only if they have a popular bar/club/lounge in them (excluding the hotel's own bar)). Depending on where you live (ie NY or Vegas) strip clubs can be good as well - but really think about whether or not you want to put yourself in that environment.
