I know tomorrow is one day at work where it is going to be very hard. If I put alcohol in my coffee can you smell it?

ABsolutely. Also, any alcohol in your blood can be smelled on your breath, no matter what else you drink. I was a bartender for years and I can smell a drop of booze a mile away, you can't hide it in coffee or anything else.
You can smell alcohol on a person's breath no matter what it is mixed with. This includes vodka. So I wouldn't try this. I bet your day at work will be even harder if you get caught drinking on the job!
