Can tequila freeze?!

Question:

Can tequila freeze?

Answers:
Yes, but not easily!

Alcohol can freeze, but only at much lower temperatures than water. I'm honestly not sure if any liquid can exist with an absolute absence of heat (something like -272 kelvin or thereabouts--it's been a LONG time since I took a chemistry class!).

However, getting alcohol to freeze requires VERY low temperatures. I have never tried putting a freezer on max and seeing if it works, but I think freezing liquids with heavy concentrations of alcohol would require something colder than a standard freezer. You could always try some kind of commercial coolant or something. Many college labs have liquid nitrogen and that would surely do the trick.

No- no alcohol will completely freeze. It will just get a little slushy

Yes its liquid so if it gets in a cold enviroment of course it can.

is the pope jewish?

mine never has....I always keep in the freezer!

Not unless it is watered down. Alcohol does not freeze. I was a bartender for 8 years and we stored lots of liquors in the freezer.

>Anything will freeze if it is cooled sufficiently.<

no

No it won't

No........not even a little

no it will not, unless its watered down it shouldn't freeze. I keep my vodka in the freezer at all times, I like it cold so!

no it won't

Yes, of course it can freeze.

Methanol (a.k.a. drinking alcohol) has a freezing point of -97 degrees C, which is really, really freaking cold.

Tequila, which is typically only about 35-55% alcohol should freeze at a slightly higher temperature. Maybe someone with a chemistry background can workout the exact math.

No
