Being a bit older than yourself and all on the page, at one time here i Canada from Canada Dry, the used to make a bottled Tom Collins mix along with Lime Ricky, all your had to add is your gin or some would like vodka but it is not a Tom Collins if you use vodka.
It is a simple mix, the liqour and a lemon bar mix, plus a bit of club soda, it should be a bit tart not as sweet as lemonade, the is bases like T&T or other that you can purchase.

Nahhh.. Gin makes my stomach burn. Besides, my grandmother always said that anyone who drank Tom Collinses wasn't a drinker.
