Building a tolerance takes years & years of practise as well as years and years of embarrassing yourself and others. You don't need to put a lot of alcohol in your drink and if you are serving then have one with your friends and each successive one you reduce the amount of alcohol you put in the drink until you are really only drinking the mix by the end of the evening. Get all or most of the fun enjoying the evening and your friends company.

Eat Eat Eat!! and drink some water in between

Drink a glass of milk before you start. My father used to do that before he went out. I wouldn't try to build up a tolerance. The more you drink the less tolerance you have. It's called reverse tolerance. Everyone looks stupid when they are drunk. Especially if the onlookers are sober

If your playing drinking games, your going to get drunk no matter what your tolerance is.

Hydrate your body all day before the party, keep drinking lots of water, and start in the morning. Also, make sure and eat your three meals that day, and have some snack foods too during your party. You can also try taking a couple ibuprofen before bed, I heard this will help your liver process all the alcohol and your hangover maybe won't be as bad.

Have fun ;)
