American Quart and Fifths measures in English please?!

Question:

American Quart and Fifths measures in English please?

When Americans talk about Alcohol measures they speek in Quarts and Fifths. What do these equate to in English Pints, Gallons or even Liters etc.?

Answers:
An American quart is nearly identical to a litre. A fifth refers to a fifth of a gallon (gallon=4 quarts/litres). A fifth of a gallon is equal to 4/5 of a quart/litre, or, for your ease, 750 mL.

The Scotch Blog: http://www.thescotchblog.com/2007/02/my_...

a quart is 32 oz. which is a quarter of a gallon, a gallon being 128 oz.. A fifth is a fifth of a gallon which is 25.6 fluid ounces.

Quarts and fifths relate to a part of a gill, which is a quarter of a pint. Therefore, if you are working in fifths of a measure, there will be 20 measures of alcohol in one pint.

try this: http://www.english180.com/classroom.do?c... it is a lesson on American units of measure.

Hope it helps.
