Alcohol Allergies? Alcohol tolerance?!

Question: I drank a little bit of wine and a bottle of beer, and my face and my whole body turned red. Even my butt was blotchey red. Anyway, what could this mean? Oh, and I threw up about 30minutes after I turned red. My height is 5'3 and I weigh 113pounds. Does this mean I'm allergic to alcohol, or my body can't handle it, or what? I'm confued, and scared that I can't drink ever again. lol I don't drink a lot either. HELP!

Alcohol is listed as a poison in the Merck manual, and you were having a reaction to that. Some people react differently. You may need to try a different brand of wine some are different than others and may not give you the same reaction. Of course you may want to not drink at all if it reacts that bad on your body.

Well mostlikely you are allergic to some or all alcohol... you should take it serious though....
