I don't know if you have Beverages n' More out there, but here in SoCal you can buy the real absinthe with wormwood for about $55 for the litre. They have a website www.bevmo.com but I'm not sure what liquor shipping rules are like.
It's legal, but it is different. It's not what people were doing in the 18th and 19th centuries. The hallucinogen is gone. What you get here legally is just another type of alcohol. If you want to try the real thing you'll have to make a trip overseas.
No you cannot buy the real stuff in Miami. The Us health department has taken wormwood off of it hallucinogenic list yet.
What you can buy is a knockoff called Absente. This stuff is made the samway just without the wormwood in it. Its about 110 proof and costs around $40.
If you really want to buy the real stuff there are a few websites outthere that will ship it from Europe in a box marked Epsom Salts. If you end up doing that plan on spending around 150-200 bucks depending on the grade you get.
